Very Reverend Nicolas Boldireff peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on May 22, 2024 at Markham Stouffville Hospital, Ontario, Canada.
Father Nikolai has been battling cancer for the past two years.
We mourn together with his loved ones.
Nicolas Boldireff was born on February 8, 1946 in Paris in a family of immigrants, the son of the legendary priest, Archpriest Oleg Boldireff, who served as rector of the parish of Christ the Savior for a long time.
In 1948 he moved with his family to Canada. He graduated from St. Tikhon’s Theological Seminary in the USA in 1970 and was ordained a priest.
Served as rector at our Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Toronto from 1976 to 2000. An important merit of Fr. Nicolas was the construction of a new iconostasis, one of the most beautiful in North America. The icons were painted by a wonderful artist, the Greek priest Fr. Theodore Koufos.
In recent years, Archpriest Nicolas has been rector of St. Innocent Church in the city of Tarzana, California, USA in the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church in America.
Husband of Matushka Anisia Boldireff, father of Natasha, Tamara, Marina and Misha.
His generous soul and charitable activities will continue through his children and will never be forgotten by his parishioners and many families of emigrants, whom Father Nicolas actively helped and supported in all available ways and with fervent prayer.
In memory of Archpriest Nicolas, everyone can make a donation to our charity center AGAPAS to help refugees via transfer to an email:

Psalm of David 23.
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
